What a fun ending!!!
George's mom had been saying that she thought that it might work -- if she could just get to where he is -- to put her hands on her hips and wag her finger at him and scold him like she does when he's mischievious. So here's her daughter's story about what happened when she responded to a sighting call this morning (she happens to work near to her mother's home):
"Got a call from Megan that she spotted him of on Woodland by the creek but he wouldn't come to her.
I left work, was driving down Woodland when he came running towards me.
I stopped got out and yelled "George! Get in this car right now!" and....he did!
He has lost about 15 pounds but is still as active as ever. Just dropped him off at home.
He momma and Lab sisters are overjoyed!!!!"
Thanks to everyone who helped or even just followed the story! We'll post follow-up pictures and a vet check-up report as soon as we can! North Springfield, please feel free to start taking down fliers as soon as possible, and rest assured that we will have volunteers out this weekend to unflier your neighborhoods.
